Botched Execution–Try Again?
An Ohio man on death row was granted one week of reprieve. The execution team could not find a suitable vein, even with the help of the prisoner, Romell Broom. Broom was convicted with the kidnapping, rape, and murder of a 14 year old girl 25 years ago.
The question now is, should the state be allowed to carry out the execution? Or did they have their chance, and failed to make it work? Broom’s lawyers call it cruel and unusual punishment. Quite the quagmire.
